What is Nu Ice & Drinks?
Nu Ice & Drinks is a family-run Houston dessert and boba shop, home of Houston’s original Ice Cream Mountains (snowflake shaved ice cream) since 2010. It also serves build-your-own boba, milk teas, smoothies, Vietnamese coffee and iced milk drinks.
Are Nu Cafe and Nu Ice & Drinks the same?
Yes. They’re sister stores in the same family-run brand, with the same menu. Nu Cafe opened in Chinatown on Bellaire Blvd in 2010, and Nu Ice & Drinks opened in Uptown on Westheimer in 2013. Both are open today.

What should I order on my first visit?
A snowflake shaved ice cream mountain to share, plus a King Kong Milk Tea (black sugar milk tea with foam and honey boba).
What is snowflake shaved ice cream?
Frozen flavored milk shaved into silky ribbons and piled into a mountain. Our shaved ice cream is a fraction of the calories of traditional ice cream. We use the blade of our shavers to create the texture rather than heavy fatty creams, and it’s creamier than a snow cone. It’s also known as snow ice or Taiwanese shaved ice cream.
Can I customize my boba?
Yes. Choose the tea or base, sweetness, ice level and toppings such as boba, honey boba, popping boba, jelly, flan and foam.
Do you have coffee?
Yes. Try the Viet Bomb Latte, a Vietnamese-style coffee with condensed milk, boba and craft cream.
